Boundary Land Innovation
Projects and reforms to improve Boundary Land.
Reduce Paperwork
- Stock Portfolio: Your portfolio is essentially like a large note card, with your holdings’ identification at the stop. Below, for each company you own, you can place small stickers in rows (each sticker representing one stock). This way, you don’t have to keep little pieces of paper in envelopes where they can get lost.
- No More Signing Stocks: Individual stocks no longer have to be signed by company founders/owners. Instead, a seal of certification agreement is signed by each officer, which is one piece of paper (like a certificate) for the whole stock market.
- Company Symbols. Companies can be identified by stock market symbols instead of their full name (i.e. Expeditions West's stock market symbol would be EXW) to reduce writing time and help other constraints.
- Permit Registry. Permits are now compiled into one registry, eliminating individual forms, with a simplified application process. The Minister no longer signs them, but uses an “Approved” stamp to quickly denote his approval.
- No-Hassle Licenses. Sick of filling out license forms for all your companies? Now you don’t have to. The OPLU License Database contains listings of all previous Boundary Land companies and their owners. You can reactivate your companies before Boundary Land starts by asking for reactivation from the Minister when your starting buildings are being checked! For new companies, fill out a quick application and present it to the Minister. The application is filed with Boundary Land’s records, so you don’t have to keep track of it anymore! Your company from then on will be listed in the License Database.
- Sign and Forget Your Checks. Your checks are placed into a basket after being processed – they aren’t returned to you. This way, in case of error, financial records exist – and you don’t have to worry about small scraps of paper cluttering your Inbox.
- All-In-One Checks. Agonized at the thought of maintaining several different checkbooks for your holdings and all your companies? Now, you don’t have to! All-In-One Checks give you flexibility and ease. On each of your holdings’ checks, your companies’ logos and symbols are printed next to check boxes (as well as your holdings). Just bubble in the check box for the appropriate account, and your transaction will be processed appropriately. New company? Fill it out on the extra line below your existing ones.
- Improved Bank Work Orders Form. Want to pay with cash? Instead of actually using cash, you can transfer it via the Bank’s Work Order Form. It’s simpler than writing a check, if it’s convenient and the CEO of the Bank isn’t busy. Fill out your transaction information on the form and it will be processed.
Enhanced Points Plan
- New Goal. Your goal is to accumulate more points than the other officers. You do this by being active in Boundary Land – developing buildings, creating companies, and participating in the stock market – as well as being fiscally responsible with your money.
- OEDA Rewards. If you win the most OEDA points, you’ll now receive an OEDA Reward. Rewards are intended to help you play the game of Boundary Land in a more organized way. Possible rewards might include: binder/folder organizer, stapler, hole punch, a Boundary Land CD-R with a personalized label, etc.
Extended Time Segments
- Do More Economically. An Extended Time Segment runs for an hour instead of forty minutes, so you have time to create more companies, invest in the stock market, develop more buildings, enjoy the Nightlife, and so on. Extended Time Segments help you because they allow you to keep working without stopping to file reports.
- Do More Militarily. Now, it’s easier to fight a military campaign or battle without worrying about squeezing it into a 40 minute time frame with constraints.
